Hair Transplant with Sedation

Sedation is a type of anesthesia considered to fall between general and local anesthesia. General anesthesia is not used in hair transplantation because it induces a full sleep state, bringing numerous side effects and risks. In sedation anesthesia, however, there is no complete sleep state, allowing selected patients to undergo a hair transplant safely and comfortably without feeling pain or discomfort.

Hair Transplant with Sedation is an ideal choice for those who wish to have a hair transplant but are hesitant due to fears of needles, pain, or the procedure itself, or those with a low pain threshold or an aversion to blood. This method is also safely applicable for patients with heart conditions and high blood pressure.

Process for Hair Transplant with Sedation:

  1. The patient is first assessed by the doctor to determine if sedation is appropriate.
  2. If deemed suitable, the doctor administers sedoanalgesic medications intravenously. These medications take effect quickly, bringing the patient into a light sleep and calm state without full loss of consciousness, typically lasting about 10-15 minutes.
  3. While the patient is under the effects of sedation, local anesthesia is applied to the transplantation area. This allows the hair transplant to proceed without the patient experiencing pain, discomfort, stress, fear, or anxiety.

Preparation Before Sedation: Patients should fast for at least three hours before sedation. Additionally, avoiding alcohol and smoking before the procedure is important.

Recovery and Aftercare: Patients can return to their social activities on the same day following a Hair Transplant with Sedation, but driving is not recommended on the same day.
